The quest to lose weight has been around since time
began. There are many reasons why people feel that they
should lose weight

look good

To
improve their health
·
To
improve their self esteem
The
reason really does not matter. What matters is that you have
decided to take this step. Visiting this site is probably
not your first step in the quest to lose weight. Most people
will have tried many of the usual methods like dieting,
exercise etc.
So,
what has gone wrong? Why did none of your previous attempts
succeed? Did your diet not result in any significant weight
loss? Did you lose weight just to put it back on almost
immediately you stopped dieting? Did you include exercise as
part of your weight loss plan? Did you follow any plan at
all or just cut down on food intake?
Losing
weight is a complex issue and each person who embarks on a
quest to lose weight must analyse themselves and select a
plan that suits their particular needs. For example, you
will need to look at your present lifestyle and list all the
things that you are doing well and the things that you do
not do so well. List what you eat and when. Be honest, the
only person you will fool is yourself! List the time you
eat, what you eat and the amount you eat. Where I say “eat”
I mean eat and drink. Leave nothing out. If you buy
something and eat it while you are shopping then you must
also include it in your list. If you have a quick snack
during the day, include it. If you are looking for weight
loss then this step is important.
You
should also make a list of activities you do during the day.
On this list you should include all exercise and rest you
take. If you do any physical work during the day then be
sure to include it. Try to quantify what you do. For
example, If you climb the stairs many times during the day
then try to figure out how many times you do it. If you take
an elevator then count the number of times you take it and
the number of floors you pass. Try to figure out how much
walking you do in the course of a day.
When you have all this information together you
can then begin to analyse your true lifestyle. Can you cut
down or out the in-between meals snacks? Can you take more
exercise in the course of your normal day by using the
stairs instead of the elevator? Remember, you do not
initially have to walk up all the stairs to the fifth
floor. Try walking to the second and then take the
elevator. When you feel comfortable you can increase your
effort and walk to the third floor and so on. In order to
lose weight fast you will need to combine exercise with
dieting.
These
suggestions are only part of your lifestyle changes and you
will need to make many more. But they are a start and every
great journey begins with a first step. Please read through
